Why We Started
As nurses working in the South West, Karlie and Alex saw firsthand the lack of respite care options for NDIS families. With no dedicated services available, they knew something had to change.
So, they made the decision to purchase a beautiful home in a local estate, creating a purpose-built, home-like retreat where families could trust their loved ones would be safe, comfortable and cared for with heart.
As mums themselves, Karlie and Alex understand the emotional and physical toll of caregiving. They also know that the best person to care for your loved one is you—but you can’t do that if your own cup is empty. That’s why they are committed to offering a respite experience unlike any other, giving families peace of mind and the chance to rest and recharge, knowing their loved ones are in safe, skilled hands.

Alex - Registered Nurse
Alex has spent years working as a Registered Nurse at various regional and remote hospitals and aged care facilities, gaining experience across general nursing, and aged care. Alex also works with a young girl with complex medical needs, providing her and her family day-to-day support. As a mum of three, she knows just how important trust and compassion are when leaving a loved one in someone else’s care. She is excited to welcome your family and ensure every stay feels safe, familiar, and enriching.
Karlie - Registered Nurse
Born in Kalgoorlie, Karlie is passionate about helping people live their best life. Her journey from teaching to nursing reflects her deep commitment to caring for others. Now working as a Registered Nurse at the local hospital, she brings a warm, person-centred approach to everything she does. As a mum of three (one with special needs) she understands the dedication it takes to care for loved ones and the importance of having trusted support when you need a break. She believes in creating a home, not just a service, where every guest feels valued, respected, and truly cared for.
